Fairtrade Fortnight

Fairtrade Fortnight was an opportunity for the school community to recognise the importance of accessing products that are guaranteed Fairtrade so that those who provide the produce can protect the planet and the future of some of the UK’s favourite food.

Over the past month, pupils have been taking part in activities which teach them about trade and export. In the 2J and 6J buddy sessions, pupils focused on learning about and supporting Fairtrade, while also considering the differences between needs and wants.

The two classes then put together hampers full of Fairtrade treats that were put up for raffle at school. 2J sold tickets to the junior school and 6J sold tickets to the senior school with school staff also pitching in.

It’s so great to see students actively engaging in more sustainable practices. Well done everyone!
